Why is there a lump on my dogs face?

My dog ran into a trailer hitch this winter and ever since she has had a lump on her face that keeps getting bigger and bigger so we brought her to the vets and they tried draining it and nothing came out and then they sent a sample out only to find that it is non cancerous but it just keeps getting bigger.
