what is the usual holiday rates?

I am a sitter available for my first holiday season. I know holiday rates are usually a bit higher. I was just curious what other sitters usually charge during the holidays.

For many rover hosts, Holidays are in high demand and hosts book up quickly to months in advance. I don't charge for Holiday stays because I take only my repeat customers. Many rover hosts will add $2.00 to $5.00 for the Holidays. If you are in a high demand area or getting requests then I would recommend adding a few $$. Just know that if the owner books 3 to 5 days, each of those days are at the higher rate. If you want to charge the higher rate for the actual Holiday or 1 day prior, day of and day after the Holiday, you would need to adjust the rate before either you or the owner clicks "book". If you notice the over charge after it is booked, you can click on "modify" and put in notes the change of fee to be charged.

In the holiday rate box it has a plus sign (+), so do you just put the amount you would charge EXTRA for the holiday or would you put the ENTIRE amount for the day? i,e., if my daily rate is $50 and I want to charge $10 more for the holiday, do I put $10 in the box or $60? Thanks for any replies!

I notice that your holiday rate for house sitting is less than your normal rate. That is wrong and you need to fix that. Look around at what other sitters in your area charge and set your rates accordingly. My boarding rate is the same as your house-sitting rate and I increase it by $5 during holiday periods, which includes the entire stay. I follow the same pricing as the travel industry and boarding facilities and the higher rate applies. Not a single customer has ever quibbled about that.
