Have you tried switching your pups meal plan? Some ingredients in the food could be causing the gas. I've also found as my dogs get older they seem to hmm let's say "let go" more often. However watching the diet closely may help as well as adjusting until you see a change.

I heard a tip on this last weekend... If your dog is a really fast eater, he may be taking in a lot of air when inhaling his food, causing gas. If this is the case, they make those pet bowls that slow down their pace when eating.

It could be because of a type of food, too many treats or perhaps an intestinal issue. I would consult a vet for more help :)

I found that the grain free food with a lot of veggies like sweet potatoes is the culprit for my lab. We went back to a fish based food that's grain free. With the veggie version which was what several pros suggested as the right food for her, she was gassy, she pooped much more, and it was much more challenging to be around and clean up. I can't imagine that she felt very good and that it upset her stomach. I guess she's a carnivore. ;)
