when do you pay for services? Before or after the job?

If you are booking someone to stay at your house, when do you pay them? Do you pay when you book them or do you pay after their stay?

Payment for the owner occurs at the time the booking is confirmed by both parties, owner and sitter. Sitter is paid after the booking has been completed
