Whag if a potential client asks for references?

I have 13 5-star reviews and several pictures posted. I met with this client's husband already a few days ago, and she just messaged me out of the blue asking for references. The booking is for two nights a week from nowz Even if I wanted to give out my other clients' information, I don't have it since we communicate exclusively through the app. I could offer the numbers of families and friends... I thought that this was the reason Rover does background checks. Help?

I had this ask recently from a new client on rover. She first told me she wanted a meet and greet but is also meeting with another sitter. Then, she kept changing the time. Then she asked for 3-5 references. I explained that I have never asked clients to give out info, and its confidential.

Rover sitters ate not allowed to provide clients other clients personal information, it is in violation of the privacy policy. Tell the client your reviews provide a good reference source and that you have completed a back ground check

There's nothing wrong with a client asking for references, especially since you will be given access to their home. Give them personal references and, if you'd like, non-Rover customers for whom you've performed pet care.
