A dog i am overnight sitting wrecked my room while I was gone. What to I do?

I left to go study for two hours and when I came back, boxes and clothes were chewed up and all over my room. My blinds were also broken and chewed up. I took her for a run before I left and gave her plenty of food and water to drink while I was gone. Do i tell the owner about the damage, or is it my responsibility to fix everything?

My understanding of Rover's Terms of Service is the client is not responsible for any property damage. It's really up to sitters to create a situation to minimize property damage. I'd advise that during the first 24-48 hours of a stay, you really should be with the dog, as nerves can create unusual behavior even with trained dogs... or set them up in a safe environment for the dog and your property if you absolutely must leave them.

Some sitters have told owners about property damage. Some owners have offered something and some offered nothing.

Unknown new dogs to your home should be crated when you cannot supervise them. It sucks your property was damaged but you have little chance of the owner compensating you for your loss.
