calendar/advance booking

I have recently had an influx of people wanting to book months in advance, most recently for dates in Nov that are already booked and paid for. When I try to navigate to Nov on my calendar to check/modify the "spaces available" it will only let me go to the middle of Oct. The rest of the month is greyed out and I can't even view Nov. This is problematic as I then have to explain that I am unavailable and decline, which results in disappointed parents. Why can't we view/modify our calendar past 4-5 months??

Great question” Why can't we view/modify our calendar past 4-5 months?? We would also add on “Why parents when contacting a sitter can’t view the updated space numbers that are still available rather than just the available or unavailable denotes. We have clients when they pick up their pet children asking us to reserve spaces up to 12 month ahead of time. To accommodate we created our own calendar to go past the rover range and pencil them in so we are able to respond when request come in thru rover. We are a little bit more concerned about why as a dog parent we are not able to view the sitter’s updated available space numbers when connecting with their profile. We as a dog parent if we would be able to view the space numbers still available would instantly know that our boxer would or... (more)

I've noticed that too, and it is annoying because some people want to book Thanksgiving and/or Christmas already. Maybe call rover support and ask? That would be a great feature to have, especially around the holidays.

Every time I book a client I immediately update my google calendar on my phone. this will sync across all your devices and even give you a reminder of all your upcoming stays. Hopefully http://rover.com will add the feature to sync directly with Gmail calendar or outlook directly like a lot of other sites do . fingers crossed!

I would love the ability to book in advance so that the client and I can hold the date, but they would not have to pay until the date gets closer. I am new to rover, so maybe its a feature I do not know about....

Why would you want that? If someone wants to book you, then they should make the commitment and be subject to your cancellation policies for refunds. Otherwise, you might be losing potential clients for the same date(s) with no guarantee of being paid. I've already received a request for Christmas and I am going to make sure there are nonrefundable deposits for those peak holiday times.

This feature is already available on Rover.com. On your calendar page, toward the bottom on the right, you can choose to sync with your Google or Outlook calendar. Be aware that it does take approximately 24 hours for new bookings to show up. It's very useful, as Meet and Greets also appear and are noted as such. I love it!

I have a monthly client. They simply go in every month, a week or so before the weekend they leave and request me. I put everything in my Google calendar, as well. And, I set lots of reminders. I know it is extra steps for us, but if that's what I have to do for now, then I will do it. Rover is improving with time. So, hopefully we will be able to book farther in advance soon!
