What can I do about a client who sends me a stay request, and then pays for it before I can even accept it?

What can I do about a client who sends me a stay request, and then pays for it before I can even accept it? It happens quite frequently, and I don't feel that it should be an option for an owner to get that far without the sitter verifying all the terms of the stay first. Any one else have this issue? Is there a setting for this that I'm not seeing?

You are receiving notifications of a confirmed booking from Rover before you've accepted? Under DogVacay, there was an automatic accept for repeat customers, which you could opt in or out of. However, there was never such a thing on Rover to my knowledge.

Unless you've confirmed a booking, it does not exist. It would only be an open request. Since I've never gone through the client end of things, I'm not certain what procedures are in place. Typically clients would be prompted to pay once you've confirmed an acceptance and only then.

You should probably contact Rover Support since there is no setting on this site for bypassing the agreement portion.

Yes, as soon as the client sends the request he clicks on the 'Book It Now' button and I lose all ability to modify the stay. As Jennifer M. mentioned, it's possible to get out of the by denying the requested stay or letting it expire. I had thought doing so would hurt my percentage rankings.

Rover Support assured me it doesn't hurt my rankings, and told me declining requests doesn't cancel the whole booking - it just stops the 72 clock and allows for editing of the stay. Then I'm the one who is able to hit the Book It Now button.

The client is never charged until you and the client accept the booking
