What information does a client have to give Rover when they sign up?

Just curious how the process is for people looking for dog sitters when they sign up for Rover? Do they have to give their address and credit card info, etc.? Are they background checked like sitters are?

I'm just asking because with the July 4th weekend coming up I got a few requests for bookings from people that just signed up. I set up Meet & Greets but just a little nervous that these people JUST signed up today and they requested a booking.

90% of people that use rover sign up the same day. Most scammers from Craigslist etc are weeded out because they don't want to go thru the hassle of setting up an account.

No, Customers do not have to go through a background check. Just like if you work at a hotel chain guests who stay at your hotel do not have a background check but you, as an employee, would. On Rover they give their name, street address, email, dog name, dog breed and weight. Thats it.

You would use your questions through the messaging system to determine their needs. also when you go to meet them you can certainly either meet in a public place or if they come to your house walk around the block with them and then and only then if you feel comfortable invite them inside. Or you can also have friend at house or with you in car.
