discounts for repeat clients?

Does anyone give previous clients a discount?

Comments

I have a lot of repeat clients. I do not discount unless it's a really long stay that applies holiday rate to the entire stay. After two years and great reviews I've thought about raising my rate but don't want to put offend my repeats. If you're good, your clients will return w/out a discount.

Thank you most helpful :)

I'm raising my rates. I just learned that the insurance through rover is really nothing at all. Its merely a mediator to get all parties involved to pay each other. So, If I continue to do this I need to buy my own insurance. That cost needs to be covered in the bookings. I see people trying to sit $20 a night. That is insane when you have an instance where I just did and have to pay out of pocket for a $600 vet bill. Just trying to make $20.

Yikes, I didn't know this either. What insurance do you use or how did you go about this?

I don't usually offer discounts as a rule....I already have a discounted rate for additional pets. That said, I will offer a surprise discount to repeating clients. For example, one client wanted a 10 day house sit, and I normally charge a higher rate for house sits over 7 days, which she was willing to pay.....I slashed the higher rate and gave her my normal rate for all 10 days. This saved her about $300.

Like the previous answer - not really.

For those clients - Instead of a discount, I'm much more flexible about drop off & pick up options - both with regards to times and also I sometimes offer that service as a convenience (complimentary, rather than charging for that extra service). Also, they usually get a much longer grace period than a new client (i.e when an overnight stay extends well past the 24 hour interval, I might not charge additional for day care hours that would apply - or similarly a daycare situation that lasts well past the usual 8-9 hours of day care may still be booked at that rate rather than the overnight rate). These types of items seem to be more appreciated by them in terms of keeping it simpler and is easier for me to manage too.

Nope. Rover takes a big chunk of my earnings so I can't really afford to give discounts. But like Deb I'm more permissive with recurring clients in terms of timing and stuff
