Why does my dog sit on me?

It seems he's putting his scent on you so all know he owns you. It could be to feel secure about his place in your life, to warn other dogs that you are spoken for and because he wants to protect you
He may also just want to feel close to you. When dogs lie on your clothes etc. with your scent on it, they want to feel like part of the pack.
