How do I know if my dog has anxiety?
I'm not sure if she has anxiety, but she whines when I leave and will constantly lick her paws if we're out. How do I know if she has anxiety?

You can also leave out toys etc. to keep her occupied. Some people like to play music or leave on a T.V. when they leave to keep there pets distracted. I like to leave my blinds open so my dogs can look out the window while I'm gone. You can also take her for long walks before you leave so she can just sleep while your gone.
Whining when you leave which stops shortly after may not be a cause for alarm. Licking of paws may or may not be a sign of anxiety. This article may help: http://www.vetstreet.com/our-pet-expe...
Also, if you're going to be out more than a few hours, I'd suggest maybe you can get her a walker, a sitter , or set up day/evening care.
