I had a dog get sick while I was boarding him. I called Rover Support and the owner, and I took him to an animal hospital. They took care of him, and I paid the bill. Rover Support told me to submit the bill to them, and Rover reimbursed me the entire amount. That's what the protection package and insurance is for. The owner never got involved as far as payment went.

Rover had me document on the phone and in writing exactly what happened. It took about 6 weeks but I got a check from Rover for the full bill from the animal hospital.

I always wondered if the protection package was worth the $50. Now I see it does. Thanks for your insight.

Actually, I don't have that one. They reimbursed me under their insurance program, which is offered to all sitters free of charge. Sorry if I misled you.

Oh ok thanks for correcting me. I know a package protection is offered to sitters but I was not sure of it's benefits.

Okay on the above but didn't I read in the protection package description that there is a $200 deductible before reimbursement?

When listing your holiday prices, you should list the total cost rather than the additional charge. For example: if your normal stay is $25, you would list your holiday fee as $27. Because you listed only the additional fee, and not the actual cost, that's how rover will charge the owners when the stay is booked. I would suggest changing your listing to what you will be charging per night on the holidays.

As for the vet visit, I would speak with the owner and discuss reimbursement with them. If they choose not to (which, if the vet visit was not cause by something you did while the dog was in your care, I can't see why they wouldn't) I would suggest calling the Rover Customer Service. They will be able to better answer any questions you have regarding that, and be able to assist you with that process.
