Why does my dog have a lot of ear wax?

Dogs with floppy ears that hang down (Spaniels, Basset hounds, Irish setters) are more prone to ear issues. The best thing you can do is proactively check your dog's ears every two weeks, for dirt, odor, and foreign bodies. Clean the inside of your dog's outer ears gently (don't go into the ear canal)- with a cotton ball soaked with a canine ear cleaning solution.
