Cancel a waiting confirmation?
I have a request waiting for confirmation that I thought the sitter was going to accept. How do I cancel the reservation so my money is returned to my bank account?

As long as the sitter doesn't accept, the money isn't taken out, only held on pending. You can also contact Rover by calling them and see if they can cancel it for you. I had the same problem except an owner asking me to sit for them and they accidentally sent me more than one.
On the webpage for the request, on the left side of the page with the stay information, is a green button that says "Cancel or Modify Request." Click on that, and you should be given the option of cancelling. I don't believe you are charged until a stay is booked, so you should be okay. If the money has already been taken out of your bank account, call Rover Support to get things straightened out.
