How is it decided what order sitters are placed when searching for a sitter?

Wondering how placement is determined in the listings of sitters/walkers. Sometimes I'm in the first three pages and other times, the seventh or eighth.

The algorithm that determines rankings is very complicated and unexplainable to all of us. New sitters typically get a boost in rankings for a short time to help assist them gain clients. Many of us complain that the top income sitters aren't always at the top of the list, but it varies by the type of services you offer and how you set your coverage area. I looked at your profile and you have a good business with lots of repeats and reviews - so congrats. You may want to consider expanding your coverage area to help you appear in searches, especially since you only offer day care and boarding.
