Why does my dog have a fever?

Body temperature for dogs is between 101 and 102.5 F. A temperature of more than 103 F is considered a dog fever. Fever can commonly be caused by infection, inflammation or excessive exercise in humid or hot conditions. When in doubt, the vet is the best way to go.
