Why does my dog have black spots on her tongue?

I noticed that my dog has black spots on her tongues... is this a sign of disease? Or is it normal? Will it go away or should I do something about this??

Dark spots on the tongue are deposits of extra pigment similar to birthmarks and freckles on people. Some breeds, like Chows, will have a dark tongue.
