At times, snorting is simply irritation. A dog may do this-trying to clear up his passages after inhaling dust, pollen, dirt, perfumes fragrances, cleaning supplies, and other allergens. Other times, it can be infection, obstructed airway, and other related conditions of the upper respiratory tract. Brachycephalic dogs and those carrying excess weight snort more than others. If your dog is snorting at a more frequent rate or in a different pattern, it's time to call the vet.
