Why won't my dog stop licking me?

He can't stop showing you how much he loves you and respects you

It could be a possession thing or affection of course. If it is something that worries you I would think further into it as to where the dog is licking you. Have you been hurt there? Is there something you've been dealing with? Have you been feeling off lately? Some dogs can sense our problems.

Just be appreciative that your dog seems to enjoy your company and expresses his affection in this species-typical way. He obviously both respects you and loves you. Enjoy the moments.

Licking is a natural instinct in dogs. They can lick you: as part of their pack, to get your attention, to show affection or to play with you. Enjoy the attention!

Licking is most likely his or her way of showing affection. It can be a learned behavior, but if they lick you, they love you!

If you are wanting to figure out a way to reduce the licking, you can train them to not do it as much.
