Do dogs need baths?

This is a question that we often get from sitters and owners who work with Rover. Help the community out by answering them in our forum!

Yes I always tell my grooming clients dogs need to be bathed every 4-6 weeks at least. Depending on coat time they could go 8-10 weeks tops. Smooth coated dogs could get away with a good dry shampoo or whipes

The ASPCA recommends that, as a general rule of thumb, dogs should be bathed every three months. Of course, dogs with different fur types require different levels of grooming. Dogs with a double coat, like huskies and shepherds, only need around three baths per year. On the hand, silky-coated dogs need to be bathed monthly.

Double coated dogs need to have the coat blown/deshed at least 4 times a year! With regular baths inbetween to keep shedding down
