Why does my dog roll on her food?

They likes the way it smells. Dogs often scent roll on things that smell like "prey." This can be especially gross when it is something like roadkill - yeah, been there. It is supposedly a leftover instinct from their wild hunting days when smelling like the prey would make it easier to sneak up on them.
