Can I give my dog a baby aspirin?

If my dog isn't feeling too well can I give him the same aspirin we use? I figured giving him baby aspirin is probably safer than the regular one. What have you guys done in the past?

I would not advise administering human meds. to your dog (with the exception of the correct dosage of Benadryl following bee stings to prevent anaphalactic shock) .

If the dog doesn't seem well, you want to observe what's going on , so you don't want some chemical to mask the issues. I'd suggest call his vet and tell them what you're observing.

With the dog's history file, the vet can best advise you.

I would check with a veterinarian first.

You can, but it can be very dangerous if used improperly. Baby aspirin should not be given to your dog on a regular basis, and if you do give it to your dog, it needs to be the proper dosage. I would look into this further before you proceed. Read https://petcitadel.com/can-you-give-a-dog-ibuprofen (this article) on pain meds and dogs, and most importantly, call your veterinarian for further direction.

It would be best not to give aspirin to your dog. Even if the reason your dog "isn't feeling well" is due to pain, human pain relievers tend to cause problems with an animal's gastrointestinal tract.

What are your dog's symptoms? What is he doing that tells you he isn't feeling well?
