What shots does my dog need?

The AKC’S recommendation is to always discuss puppy vaccinations with your dog’s veterinarian at their regular scheduled appointments. There are factors your veterinarian and you should consider when deciding which vaccinations your puppy needs. Your puppy’s individual risk levels for susceptibility of specific diseases and where you live are the main considerations you will discuss with your dog’s veterinarian. Some vaccines are optional, and some are required by law. If you plan on boarding your dog, you may want to investigate the required vaccines for the facility you plan on utilizing. Most dog boarding facilities require an up-to-date vaccination record for your dog to be allowed at the facility. Not every dog will require the same vaccination schedule.
