Why does my dog hack?
My dog has developed a dry hacking cough, and I don't think he's had allergies before, so I'm really worried he's got a disease of some sort. Should I take him to the vet??

My concern would be your dog could have highly contagious kennel cough, If he was recently at the groomer, dog park, obedience class, shelter, or playground, he may have contracted it from a sick dog.
