we sometimes can only give short notice of the need for a drop-in. Is that allowed?

We are in DeLand for the winter for our business. Occasionally something comes up that we only know about a few days before, is this allowed or only long notices? This would be for drop In visits.

Hi Michelle:

It would depend on the sitter. I do drop in visits myself, and some of my clients can only give a few days notice for service due to work schedules, etc. I do require a meet & greet before booking clients, which not only gives us a chance to meet, but also provides the time to go over details such as scheduling.

Hi Michelle!

I think Mary's response answers your question pretty well, but I'd like to take it one step further! If I was in your position I would reach out to a few sitters and explain that you will periodically need 'last minute' drop-ins. Schedule a meet and greet with the sitters you're interested in and do a test run with your favorite (30 minute walk or drop-in would be a good test!). This way you will have a few familiar options when things come up and you won't have to go through the song and dance of a meet and greet on limited time!

One thing to please keep in mind though - sitters who receive a request for a service may be 'dinged' if they don't book the service. So please only reach out to sitters that you think you may actually be interested in using and consider booking an actual service if you like the sitter.
