I love my Rav4! Plenty of room for all of my dog guests and the back is big enough for crates that are either folded down, OR standing up.

I have a Honda Fit that folds down amazingly. I used to own an SUV and have actually been able to haul more in my Fit! I also appreciate the way the Fit doesn't have the lip that you see in the back of the Fiat when the seats fold down. I take giant breeds when I sit and I think it keeps things more comfortable in the back.

I love my Fiat. I don't typically have to transport more than one human passenger, and the back (with the rear seat folded down and everything protected by a big wool army blanket) comfortably holds 4 dogs with room to spare. Since it's fairly small, the hatch isn't a big jump, and it's easy to boost dogs into the rear as needed. It's gas-friendly, easy to park, and of course ridiculously cute.

Here's my Fi with my border mix, Carys, Pedey the 80 lb American Bulldog mix, Freya the Bernese (and my second dog, Aster, behind Freya). All four can lay down comfortably back there with extra space for at least another good size dog. And when you fold the seat back up, suddenly the back of your car looks clean again!
