Allergies are a leading cause of dry dog noses. ... Plastic is a common dog allergy that can cause a dry, crusty dog nose. If your dog has a plastic dish for food or water switch it out for a stainless steel bowl. Certain dog foods, treats and household products can also spark your dog's allergies.

Yes, dehydration can cause dry nose. My dog was also suffering from dry nose problem i went to the doctor with my dog and doctor said this is normal. one day my uncle noticed my dog's nose and my uncle suggested me a website called Puppington. They provide dry dog nose treatment and this treatment works very good you can check Puppington for more information.

This can be a sign of dehydration, extreme heat exposure, allergies, or a skin condition. Make sure your dog is getting enough water. See if you can notice any environmental factors that are causing the dry nose to determine allergies to plastic, food, etc. Make changes/remove potential causes one at a time so you can figure out what is what and check w/your vet if you need help. You can also find balms for their noses at the pet store if they're in the sun or spend time near a heater/warm blowing air.

This could be due to lots of things, including dehydration or allergies. I would bet though that during the winter months, it's likely due to the dry cold air! There are plenty of soothing balms that work on pup noses and paws during harsh weather.

My dog's dry crusty nose turned out to be Canine Lupus (DLE) requiring veterinary care.
