Why does my dog drool around other dogs?

My dog always seems to drool a lot around other dogs. He never drools that much otherwise, but when I take him outside or to the park where there are other dogs, he drools like crazy! Why does this happen??

Comments

Dogs usually drool more when they're excited.

Dogs may salivate more often around other dogs because they are anxious or excited. Excess salivation in dogs can be stress-related, which can often be triggered by excitement or fear in response to outside stimuli. A higher level of salivation corresponds to a higher level of anxiety.
