What happens if sitter is MIA when dropping off?

What happens if the sitter goes MIA when you show up to drop off your pet. I'm just imagining a worst case scenario with a flaky sitter in which they change their mind and aren't home at pre-determined drop off time. For those of us who are traveling this could be an issue being in a new city and having to find last minute dog boarding accommodations. Has anyone encountered this? Does rover guarantee any type of emergency service for this kind of scenario?

HI Tyler: I've never heard of that happening, but if it ever does, contact Rover Support at [Edit: Rover’s contact options have changed. Visit the Rover Help Center at https://support.rover.com/ to find the phone number, help articles, or chat with the team] and they will help you out.

Here's a link to Rover's Reservation Guarantee, which includes the phone # & online link to contact 24/7. https://www.rover.com/reservation-gua... It's nice to note that if booked with book with a more expensive sitter or dog walker, Rover covers the cost difference between the original booking and your new booking(up to 25% of the total cost of original booking) and All sitters/walkers profiles listed are eligible for consideration - not limited to Rover Match or other programs

Hi, Tyler! As Mary mentioned, I haven't heard of this happening either. However, hopefully you will get some peace of mind knowing that there is in fact a procedure in place in the event of any emergency happening with your selected sitter. There are certain Rover sitters who were invited to join a program called Rover Match specifically for emergency situations, where they are sort of on an on-call basis if a sitter is unable to attend to the pets in their care for any reason. Rover would send out a message to local sitters who are part of the Rover Match program to take over for the ill/injured sitter if that were to ever happen.
