Rover.com and DogVacay connected in any way?

I am a rover sitter and thought that Rover.com and DogVacay were competitors but sometimes I get the impression there is a connection. Like in one of the questions about connecting with other rover sitters, someone posted 3 facebook sites and one is for rover/dv. Is there a connection between the 2 companies? I started with SleepOverRover and they merged with rover.com several years ago. Is this the same with DogVacay?

The people who post here would be sitters and they may be listed on both Rover and DogVacay. They're the ones--not either company--who have set up the joint Facebook groups. The companies are competitors and have nothing to do with the FB groups, other than possibly having some employee-sitters being members of them.

Remember, because something is posted here on the Rover Community, it isn't not a policy or answer by the company, just other sitters wanting to share info.

Thanks! I remember when SleepOverRover and Rover were competitors then became "sister" companies but in many was separate and then merged into one company. I wasn't sure if that was also the situation between the 2 companies.

Kathleen - the Facebook Rover/DV sites are independent from either company, they are administered by Rover or DV sitters and host the forum for open dialog, education, and sharing.

Thank you. That is awesome! I sent a request to join but is still pending.

Yep - similar to what others have said, they are definitely competitors. Many sitters (including myself) are listed on both websites. As a sitter, it's nice to see the features on both sites but sometimes I do with they were connected so that they could see all my reviews!
