No response from those whom made a request, why?

80% of the messages and requests that I have received since I began a two weeks ago are complete flakes or possibly not real.

The latest I reply to a request is half an hour (rare but max) but regardless, my rating drops, the person never confirms, cancels, or tells me that they've changed their mind. I go out of my way to be as detailed and polite, I call them but no call back.

Now I'm not getting any requests at all for an entire week and my entire schedule has been open. What is going on?

I think we all get requests that don't turn into bookings, and there are a myriad of reasons why. The client is price shopping and wants the lowest price, they got a friend/family to do it for free, their plans changed, etc. All you can do is provide an interesting, inviting profile and price yourself within your market range.

Your profile looks good to me. I would suggest adding photos of your house and yard. Potential clients like to see where their baby will be staying. The only drawback might be that you have an unfenced yard. You might address that in your profile with something like, although my yard is unfenced I take all my dog clients out on leash frequently for exercise and potty.

Also, if you are new, it just takes awhile to get clients. Be patient, advertise your services, and eventually your client base will grow. Read profiles of other sitters in your area to check prices and wording.

Yes. My prices are lower than the people in my surrounding area and were made that way since I started so the only change I need to make I suppose is waiting. I'll post more photos this week. The feedback is appreciated.
