Vaccine Requirements of Guest Dogs

Do any of you request vaccine records from your clients? Often my clients will ask if they need to provide it. I have even started asking clients because I think it shows that I'm running a professional business and have all parties' health interests in mine (I have a dog). I wish http://Rover.com encouraged clients to upload a .pdf copy of vaccine records as it would make it easy to obtain copies from new clients.

Yes, I do. The information sheet my clients fill out specifically asks if the dog is current with vaccines and to provide a copy of the vet's record.

I do request vaccination records to be current and a copy of the rabies certificate. I have an information sheet for each dog which asks if vaccinations are current. Another form I have them sign is an emergency contact form. The owner gives me two people to contact in case I cannot reach the owner. Also on the form is permission to treat at their vet. The form is dated for the duration of the stay. I always get a signature. Never know when you may have a medical emergency.

I request vaccine info (self-reported) in my intake eval, and my vet release gives me permission to request copies of their vaccine records. If they provide me with their current copies, that's great, too. So long as I can obtain a copy if needed (or just call their vet to confirm what they've indicated in the intake eval is correct), that covers my bases.

Hi Laura! I am a new sitter - would you be able to provide me with the intake evaluation that you use? I would really appreciate it. Thank you!

I, technically, require vaccine records indicating current DHPP and Bordatella, AND a Rabies Certificate. Clients have a really hard time with the Certificate part, but I ask for it anyway...
