When did Rover switch from taking 15% to 20% of earnings!?

The last time I checked a few weeks ago, Rover took 15% of earnings and let you keep 85%. I just checked on the Become a Sitter page and now it says 20%?!! I feel so duped. Rover is a big part of my income and I already felt like the 15% was too much, especially when a lot of my jobs come from checkins that net me around $10 after fees. Anyone recall being informed of this change at any point or re-aggreeing to terms and conditions? I don't.

Thanks, I didn't even know this change had occurred!

Plus they started charging clients 5-7% fees per visit up to $25.

This is absurd 20%, even 15 is too high. It's a lot of money to lose. Where is there a place we can all tell them out input?

It gets even worse. Now, new sitters are charged a WHOPPING 25% by Rover. ABSURD. I'm out. How they expect anyone to tolerate that is beyond me.

@jill 25%?! Are you serious? Wow. I did not know that...I'm on 20%

Only RoverGO sitters are charged 25% from their earnings. All other sitters are earning 80-85% of their earnings.

15% is already way too much. Rover implies they are the AirBnB of dog care yet AirBnB takes 3% service fee thats all and thats exactly what Rover should take. NOT 15%...

Yeah, I'm not pleased with this either -- especially since I'm going to have MORE taken out when I do my taxes. I expected that, but 20% of my earnings, that's really freakin' steep.

Your pay out percentage shouldn't change. From the help center: If you’re a pet sitter or dog walker and you created your Rover account prior to March 1, 2016, you’ll take home 85% of your earnings from each booking. If you’re a sitter who created a Rover profile after March 1, 2016, you’ll take home 80% of your earnings from each booking. If you're a pet sitter or dog walker with RoverGO, you'll take home 75%of your earnings from each booking. https://support.rover.com/hc/en-us/ar...

What if I signed up as an InMy Home Sitter prior to March first but added new services after March? How does that work?

So, it seems that you're referring to Boarding. If your sitter profile was created before March, then all services (even added ones) should pay out 85%. The exception is if you changed to be included in Rover Go/Match/Premiere programs.

Thank you for that clarification.

Hi, Rita. Rover changed from taking 15% to 20% only for NEW sitters around March of 2016, I believe. If you were signed up as a sitter prior to then, you will only have 15% taken out of your income UNLESS you are a part of RoverGo, which has a higher percentage taken out.

When I signed up a few months ago, it was not 20 percent and I did not sign up for rover go then. I was told then rover would take 15 percent and now that I've checked my latest boarding payment, it was 20 percent... who do I talk to about this?
