I found a wound on my dogs head after boarding... What happened?

We actually let Ms. Cassidy P. took care of our dogs from Jul 30 to Aug 2. We chose her again because we thought she took good care of our dogs. Today, we could come to her house 30 min earlier than we told her. When we went to pick up our dogs however, there was no one in the house except for the dogs alone and when we called her, she replied that she was at the groceries store. I couldn't accept this behavior of her, if this is not first time. Then we took our dogs home and gave them a bath. After giving them a bath, one of our dog seems to have a wound on his forehead. There is a red round gash on his head and it seems like pieces of his fur had been ripped off. Also his whole forehead seems to be really red. I just want to know what happened to our dog so that we can alert the vet to get proper treatment. How can we find out what happened to our dog? We are looking forward to hearing proper answer from you soon. Thanks,

Hi there, Although Rover representatives/employees moderate the Q&A platform and contribute at times, you'll get quicker resolution if you contact them directly. This link to the support page https://support.rover.com/hc/en-us/re... lists phone numbers you may want to call (Rover Support [Edit: Rover’s contact options have changed. Visit the Rover Help Center at https://support.rover.com/ to find the phone number, help articles, or chat with the team] / Trust & Safety team 888-727-1140).

I'm a Rover sitter, not a representative/employee, so I can't access the details of your stay. However, it may be worthwhile to contact the sitter, Ms. Cassidy P., and ask if she's aware of anything. Even though the stay ended and the dogs returned home, you can still use the Rover messaging system if you want to do it in writing, which Rover Support can also review. Rover Support can also provide information about insurance that may help w/ the medical expenses.

I hope your dog is okay! I would recommend you contact the sitter and ask her if she knows what happened to your dog's head. As Deb said, this is a Q&A community, so if you're looking for a response from a Rover representative, calling them directly would be the best and quickest option.

I'm not sure why you're upset that the sitter wasn't home when you arrived though. If you got there 30 minutes early and didn't tell her you would be, and she happened to be out at the grocery store at that time, I think that's okay as long as the dogs were secure and safe (everyone has to run errands and leave the house occasionally, though maybe 30 minutes before a pick up isn't ideal). However if she's regularly late for drop off and pick up times, I think that's an issue to address with her, and perhaps find a different sitter in the future.
