It all depends on you. Some people operate 24/7, others, like me, have set 'office hours' limiting dropoff and pickup times. I have mine set as 9 am to 8 pm. And as Carmen said, it should depend on the dropoff time. If there is 4 hours or less difference, I won't charge extra, but 4-8 hours gets a $10 daycare charge, and anything over 8 hours gets another night's stay charged. I am flexible, though, especially if a client is flying in or out on a trip.

Technically, a "day" is a 24-hour period of time. If the dog was dropped off at 7am, they should be picked up by 7am on the last day of the stay. Many sitters have a separate day-care fee that is added if, for example, the same dog was not picked up until the afternoon or evening.

As for me, I figure most people leave early and come home late, and that it will all even out in the wash. Rover is not my primary source of income so I am able to be more flexible, however, I completely understand and support the policies mentioned above.

I operate on 24/7 schedule but for a boarding the dog should be picked up 24 hours after it was dropped off or will pay an additional 1/2 or full daycare fee.

As long as the owner communicates their intention with drop-off and pick-up, I'm usually very flexible. Generally, before 8am and after 9pm should be communicated in advance. I always ask clients for a timeframe of when they plan to drop off and pick up so that I can plan my day accordingly.
