I had two owners request this of me and I think that it is not a good idea. Has this happened to you and how did you handle it?

I am currently experiencing this situation! The owner is on vacation in my town and brought her dog with her, but I'm sitting him for the weekend. The owner asked if she could pick him up to take him to the beach today, which feels a little weird, but on the other hand I can see wanting to experience your vacation with your dog. My fear is that the dog already has separation anxiety, and I worry seeing his owner 14 hours after being dropped off, then getting dropped back off again will only further that and make this weekend difficult for all of us. I'm going to let her pick him up for a beach day today, but if she asks to do it again I plan to explain that I don't think it's in the dog's best interest. If she really wants her dog with her on the trip, I'll recommend some pet friendly hotels and cancel the remainder of the stay. Coordinating multiple pick up and drop off times for the same dog is a lot of extra work for the sitter, so if this becomes a common occurrence I wouldn't feel out of line charging an extra fee.
Those are good points! Having to deal with coordinating multiple pick-ups and drop-offs could be a lot of extra work!

The 2nd time I was asked this was last minute by a couple of hours. I said that once we meet and if everything goes well I would host. He said he was moving and it would of been a 12 day sit. I feels it hard on the animal alraedy and daily walks with the owner would make it worse for the dog and us
The only reason I can think of that would make that not weird would because the owner was moving. I'm imagining if they're moving locally, need temporary boarding, and still want to see their pup. But if you have two different customers send a request to you, and you haven't done it yet, that seems suspicious. I might consider contacting Rover support about it.
The first the time I refused the owners request to have him walk his dog was because it was late at night and it was asked of us after the stay was already in progress. It turns out that the owner ended up abandoning his pet on another sitter a week later.
Interesting situations to say the least. My closest experience to that was I hosted dogs regularly for a woman, who was away for approx. two weeks a couple times, so she asked if her adult daughter could visit once or twice. I suggested it would be best if the dogs and I visited her at her home, as she lived nearby. It worked out great.
