Credit Card Charged upon confirmation?

Is my credit card charged right away before the sitter has watched my dog once I confirm?

Yes, your card is charged immediately; however, your sitter does not receive payment until 48 hours after the stay is completed.

Can I wait to confirm the sitter until closer to the time they work for us?

If you work out an agreement with the sitter that's fine. Using Rover as designed, though, your stay is not confirmed until payment is made.
