Keep getting requests for dates I'm not available..?

I've had to deny 3 house sitting requests in the last week for a week that I will be out of town in June. I have this in my calendar, yet I keep getting requests. Why is this happening?

I've had cases where a client will contact me and request dates that are clearly shown on my calendar as unavailable. When I ask them about it, they say that they followed a link from another sitter's page. Also, not everyone looks at the sitter's calendar before making a request.

Had the same issue. This was a regular client and I felt bad to turn them away, however, my profile was set "away" AND my calendar was blocked over the easter holiday. The booking came through. I sent rover my feedback and received this message from them

"Hi Rosie,

Thanks for reaching out to us. Your clients are still allowed to send messages and requests for dates when you are marked as "away". They are also made aware that you are set to away, and may not respond to their message or may be unavailable. I have attached screenshots of what your clients see when they try to message or book with you for dates when you are set to away.

I'm sorry that this caused a change of plans for you, but feel free in the future to let you clients know if you will be unavailable for a specific request, as I am sure they would understand. Stays cannot be booked without you first accepting the stay. I hope this information helps. If you have any other questions please feel free to respond to this message or give us a call.

All the best,

Tymer Rover Support"

My theory-If you are marked away AND your calendar is marked unavailable the client should not be given the option to send a request.

Thanks

Wonder if this negatively impacts your score though? Rover seems pretty aggressive about pushing sitters to take requests that might not be the best fit, because not accepting requests impacts the search score. They are so on us to keep our calendars updated but don't honor their side of i

I recently had something similar happen with a previous Rover client. When I asked support, they answered that a previous client can access your account from past messages, make a new request, and it will alert client that "those days appear to be unavailable to the sitter" but the client still has the ability to have the request go through.

These have all been new prospective clients.

Hmmm, I wonder if maybe they see the same message, "those days appear to be unavailable to the sitter" but maybe the new client also an still send the request through? I don't know if it works that way with new ones - just a guess.
