Does it cost to join rover and make a profile?
Nope - Rover is free to use. When you book a stay, 15% of the money exchanged goes to Rover to pay for the services they provide.
Its 20 % and they also charge you for a background check when you are signing on to be the dog walker. They did not say anything about this in the beginning . Only after I spent an hour filling out all the info and it was at the end of the application .

Pretty sure that was the background check which you agreeded to pay for there's no option to opt out.
Googling says no fees to sign up on Rover.. But when signing up:

Submit your profile With these two steps completed you're ready to submit your profile! We'll review it within 5 business days
With a review still needed before any confirmations.
Then the extra fees per walk/sit.. And the extra 20-30 percent needed to set aside for taxes.

Its 20 % of what you make so your fees have to be higher in order to make what you need, and they ask for $25 for a background check and there is no opting out of it.
i m not inquiring to be a sitter..i inquired about a sitter on rover and they sent me a fee of approx 32.00 why do they need a background check on me the owner of the dog/??????
