What exactly does the "Years of Experience" mean on the Becoming A Sitter page?

I am currently signing up to become a Traveling Sitter and I'm a bit confused on the "Years of Experience" part. Does it mean how long have you been a professional dog sitter (which I am not) or how long have you watched dogs/cats etc. in general?

It's left open to interpretation, so I think it's up to you to decide how you want to approach it. For me, I counted back to when I became active in the dog community and was really making an effort to learn about how dogs behave, think, and learn about their environments. I wasn't professionally dog sitting, but I was interacting with a large number of dogs and working with my own, and helping friends with their dogs. Those were valuable years and I certainly wouldn't be pet sitting now without them.

Hi I liked your answer. I'm a traveling sitter myself and I also have had experience with dogs and some that I had cared for as well.
