Why can I only promote my business to one neighborhood on Nextdoor?

In reading through the Rover blog about promoting my business on Nextdoor, the instructions state: "4. Under 'choose neighbors,' Select just your neighborhood. Just a note, your post will be removed if you select additional neighborhoods," when selecting the neighborhoods who would be able to see my post. I live in an area that is somewhat active on Nextdoor, but my specific neighborhood is pretty small. I don't understand why this would have to be limited to only being able to post to my own neighborhood when this could be an effective way to market http://Rover.com and my services if I would be able to promote my business to all my surrounding neighborhoods. Can anyone give some insight as to why this is the case? Posting to Craig's List or Facebook isn't limited - why should this avenue or marketing be limited?

Your post may be removed regardless of how many neighborhoods you post to. While some neighborhoods are more lax with the rules, Nextdoor does not allow advertising of services through their site. If you post to multiple neighborhoods you run the risk of violating multiple neighborhoods' rules and your post will likely be removed faster.

My nextdoor group has a classifieds section, and our rules are that we can post one, and only one, advertisement of our business. It all depends on how your group is run, but there's not a blanket prohibition. Check with the lead of your group to find out the rules for your specific location/group.
