Most activities will not affect your ranking or account NEGATIVELY. Rover support once told me that accepting a booking has a positive effect, but not accepting one has NO effect. (See other post about this here: https://www.rover.com/community/quest...)

So, while there are plenty of ways to improve your search rankings and put you at the top of the search results for your area, very few (if any) activities actually bring you down (they just don't bring you up). The only thing I would be careful of is cancelling once a stay is booked. I'm not sure if this negatively affects your account or not, but definitely avoid it any way you can.

The sitter initiating a cancellation triggers an automatic review and can result in suspension or removal of their account.

I don't think turning a client "away" will affect you negatively...you have the right to choose to sit for the dogs you are comfortable with. That is why the meet & greet is so important. I think the main things that can affect you negatively would be 1) Poor response time, and/or poor communication with clients and 2) Not fulfilling the duties that were agreed upon during the meet & greet. There are always things that happen during a stay that nobody has control over (accidents, illnesses) but as long as you are diligent in the service you provide, along with communication before, during, and after the stay; you shouldn't have to be concerned about your account being affected negatively.
