We got to meet Chantel before our booking and got our dog comfortable with her. She was great with our dog and she sent us pictures every day. It was really nice to see our dog while we were away and great to see he was doing well. Thank you Chantal!!

Absolutely comforting family to leave your pet with. As much as we missed Koda while we were away we knew he was in good hands. Samantha was great at keeping us posted on how things were going, with little messages and photos. Will definitely be contacting Samantha and her family for our next trip. Thanks again!

About: I have had dogs since I was 7, but I can say I have properly taken care of them since I was 12. I love dogs! I have a playful husky who will also help make feel your dog at home. I work from home, so I have plenty of time to walk your dog and I will also be able to give them cuddles, that won’t be like yours but that can make up for them on the mean time. I have a backyard but the dogs stay indoors to keep them safe. There’s plenty of space for them to play inside and outside; and they will go on walks around the neighborhood with me.

Merci, Maude!

Fabulous care! We were passing through on our way to the East Coast and wanted to meet friends in Sherbrooke for dinner. Emmanuelle was so kind and accommodating. Denahi loved her! She knew exactly how to help him feel comfortable very quickly. If I could give 10 stars I would!

About: Lifetime Farm Experience Growing up on a farm with five dogs, and multiple cats gave me an intuitive understanding of animal behavior and means I can handle almost anything they throw at me. A 2-Acre Private Playground & Trail Access Unlike standard suburban yards, my 2-acre property offers your dog ample space to safely run, explore, and play on a long line. Sorry still not fenced in for dogs. For high-energy breeds, I provide structured walks on scenic local trails right from the property. Constant On-Site Presence Because I work on site, your dog gets continuous companionship, supervision, and routine pot breaks. They are never left alone for long stretches. Because I work from home, pet care isn’t something I squeeze into my schedule—it’s built into my entire daily routine. Here is how guest dogs fit right into my everyday flow: Morning (7:00 AM – 9:00 AM): Fresh Air & Breakfast Your dog and I kick off the day with an early bathroom break, morning feedings, and a leisurely stroll around the property or an energizing trail walk before I start my workday. Midday (12:00 PM – 1:30 PM): Farm Play & Bathroom Breaks Since I work on site, midday is dedicated to play and outdoor time. Guest dogs get dedicated play sessions on our 2 acres, a mid-day pot break, and a chance to stretch their legs while I do afternoon farm chores. Afternoon (2:00 PM – 5:00 PM): Quiet Workday Companionship During work hours, dogs relax nearby—whether resting in the same room as me or relaxing after their afternoon play. High-energy dogs or puppies get periodic check-ins and quick breaks as needed. Evening (5:30 PM – 8:00 PM): Trail Walks, Dinner & Wind Down Once the workday ends, your dog and I head out for an evening walk along local trails or extended play in the yard. After dinner, guest dogs settle in for feeding time and cozy evening downtime. Night (9:00 PM – 10:00 PM): Final Potty Break & Bedtime A final night-out in the yard ensures everyone is comfortable and settled before heading to sleep in a secure, quiet environment. Your dog isn't just getting a place to crash—they're getting a full countryside vacation! Because I work on site, I’m around pretty much 24/7 to throw the ball, give belly rubs, and keep everyone happy. Here’s what life looks like for your pup at my place: Constant House Company: No sitting in a crate for 8 hours waiting for someone to get home. Pups hang out right next to my desk while I work, getting routine breaks and endless affection. 2 Acres of Safe, Off-Leash or Long-Line Fun: I have 2 wide-open acres of countryside to explore. Since the property is unfenced, safety is my absolute top priority—guest dogs are kept securely on long lines for sprawling fetch games, or walked on-leash unless you’ve explicitly cleared them for voice-recall off-leash play. Trail Walk Adventures: For dogs with energy to burn, I skip the boring sidewalk trots and head straight out for scenic, leashed trail walks right off the property. Farm-Savvy Supervision: Growing up around dogs and cats means reading animal body language is second nature to me. All outdoor time is 100% supervised and controlled. Your Routine, Maintained: Tailored meals, meds, bedtime quirks—whatever keeps your dog feeling secure, I stick to it. If they love crate sleeping, great! If they prefer a plush dog bed by the window, even better. Photo Updates: Expect regular photos and videos of your pup living their best farm life while you're away!

We were a foster family for Mira for 5 years, so patience and consistency with dogs are definitely something we’re familiar with! We have also provided pet-sitting services in 4 different homes over the past 4 years during the owners’ summer vacations (with both dogs and cats). At our place, there is access to a trail just 100 meters away, which allows for frequent walks and hikes with your dog. We also have a fenced backyard if needed. I also enjoy doing basic dog care to make sure everything is okay and that the dog is healthy. I have an atypical schedule and the flexibility to organize my time as I wish. When I am at the office, my partner works 100% remotely, which allows us to always keep an eye on the dog. (ex: marche tous les midis à l'extérieur) We’re more the type to go on long walks or runs (happily!), and we have a fenced backyard for ball play and outdoor games. Indoors, we focus on encouraging calm behavior by keeping the dog mentally stimulated with a bone or a toy, along with plenty of cuddle and scratch sessions. When we care for a dog in another home, we do our best to maintain the dog’s usual schedule and routine (for example, a daily outdoor walk at lunchtime).

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
