“Wonderful experience! She took amazing care of our two dogs, keeping us updated with photos and texts the entire time. It rained like crazy, but she kept them happy, comfortable, and even cleaned their paws before pick up. Our typically anxious pup even slept through the night without a sound. Absolutely fantastic sitter!”

“Java our long haired chihuahua puppy (8 months) went and stayed 3 nights with Stephanie and family. It was her first time away from our family ever but Stephanie stepped in and loved Java like her own. We had pics and videos and updates! Java loved playing with the cats and Moose. We are so grateful for the help and love for our little fluffy puppy!”

“Sophia was amazing!! It was my first time leaving my 5 year old schnoodle overnight and she made sure he was so well loved and taken care of. She provided photos and even videos! He was right at home and so relaxed and happy. I would highly recommended Sophia!”

“Callie is a caring person who checked in with us daily. She sent us photos of Chewie every day. She brought him on walks in the neighborhood and her pups got along with Chewie too. Our family recommends Callie. We will book her again with no hesitation.”

“Deric took excellent care of Ollie during her 10 day stay. He is well-versed in dog behaviour and Ollie had a great time. Deric carefully followed our instructions for Ollie’s special diet and needs. I appreciated the regular updates. I would highly recommend Deric.”

“The booking for Betty with Elizabeth went so well everything just came together so I could leave her with no worries. Elizabeth is very close to where I live and has a beautiful home like a spa and playground for kitties. Betty Davis came home happy. I will be booking with her in the future”

“This was our second time booking with this dog sitter, and she was wonderful again. She is patient, kind, and attentive with our senior dog, and we felt confident knowing our dog’s needs were truly being cared for. We really appreciate the thoughtful care and would happily book with her again. Thank you Alexis!”

About: I love animals. People would describe me as warm, energetic, happy, and kind. I will treat your best friend like my own and there is nothing better than a dog smile after a walk, or cat snuggles. I have always grown up with animals and they make me happy and I absolutely believe they make the world a better place. I had 2 cats who lived to be 23 years old (brother and sister) miss them everyday.... and I also had an American Bulldog named Titus. He was extremely goofy, cuddly and could tear his way into any box or toy that he had!!! I am extremely patient, and have lots of experience with senior animals, and dogs of large breeds. I look forward to meeting you and your best friends!!!
“Jennifer was my very first rover sitter and she’s set a high standard! Winnie came home so happy I’m not even sure she knew I was gone! She was so tired after all the fun at Jennifer’s house, between the walks, adventures, and romping with the resident pup she was completely spent. A real rarity for my very high energy pup. Would highly recommend Jennifer to anyone looking for someone to love their pet as their own!”

“Highly recommend Krystal. She looked after our dog (Lucky) for 3 nights and 4 days at her place. She gave us regular updates with photos and took great care of her. I'm pretty sure Lucky is missing her already. Will definitely use Krystal again.”

“Amazing Dog Sitter – Highly Recommend! We couldn’t have asked for a better dog sitter than Sam! They took incredible care of our dog—honestly, probably better than we do! Sam was super accommodating with our changing schedule, which made everything so much easier. We loved getting photo updates of our pup having a great time. It gave us such peace of mind knowing our dog was in such good hands. We will definitely be booking with Sam again. Highly recommend!”

About: Hi everyone, my name is Brittany and I’m a student in Calgary. I have pets of my own and they don't mind extra friends. They're very obedient and playful. Joey (small dog) gets protective when he is on a leash towards dogs he’s never met so his walks & pee breaks are separate till I can find the right trainer for us. Other than that, when he’s not on the leash he’s playful/affectionate with all dogs and has been to daycare with a perfect playfulness score. I go to university in the evenings so I’m available during the day to check on your pets. I don’t do pack walks so it will just be your pet and I for walks. I live in an apartment so I know how important pee breaks are for dogs and I’m willing to help. If our dogs get along great, I don’t mind taking yours to the dog park with us on our daily outings. I’ve also worked at a vet before moving to Calgary so know how to properly manage dogs. I only provide healthy and top quality snacks, I keep track of recalls and ingredients. If your dog is allowed snacks they'll get the best. I also bake my dogs their own treats so I know the ingredients first hand. If your pet has any appointments like going to the vets, grooming etc I can run those errands as well. (I don’t do housesitting anymore as I live in an apartment now but can make exceptions for smaller breeds) I do have my own pets and routine so it's easy to accommodate additional pets. I like to stick to a schedule of walks, cleaning of cat room, play time, yard time etc. It just creates a stress free environment for all so nothing is rushed and overlooked. My pets are spoiled and in the past it was very hard for me to find care that was up to my standards. I don't mind lists of quirkiness on who likes what and how to play with them, their favourite words etc. I also have the EBO camera where the owner is able to check on their pet and interact with them 24/7. I believe that pet owners should. be able to check in whenever they'd like. As a pet owner myself, that would be something that would give me a peace of mind to be able to enjoy my trip without any worries.
About: I lived on a farm most of my life, always had dogs and cats at home since I was a kids love animals. All three of my animal are spoiled and I want to get more animals their spoils life they deserve I work full time as a paramedic, my schedule is everywhere but I know my schedule quite ahead of time. I am very accommodating to anyone needs. I have a fenced yard, me and my fiancé have 1 dog who is a sweetheart ( everyone is her bestie) and 2 cats under a 2 year old. One is an angel and the other is a devil (she just loves to play and be a kitten) they are all very amazing animals. I am very accommodating to whatever your animal requires!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
