For your complete peace of mind, I am legally registered as an independent provider here in Ontario, specializing strictly in boutique, personalized home care for small-to-medium pups under 40 lbs and drop-in visits for local cats. To set every guest up for success, I use a specific structure for introducing new clients. When a new pup arrives, I keep them completely separate from my dog at first so they can calmly check out my yard and get familiar with the surrounding community on a quick walk. After about 20 minutes of decompression time, I will introduce them to Ruby via the safety gate between my kitchen and living space. This step is incredibly important for keeping the energy cool and collected, as my 3-year-old beagle is always highly excited to meet new friends and doesn't always know her own boundaries since she is an only pup herself! To keep everyone happy and relaxed throughout the rest of their stay, I use my kitchen area—which has a full view of the living room—to separate my dog and the guest pup when it's time to wind down. This gives them their own space to relax, drink water, and rest. I serve dinner around 5:00 PM using structured 20-minute intervals to encourage calm eating times and ensure they don't eat each other's food. Guests get plenty of outdoor time in my yard every 2 to 4 hours, and if a visiting pup walks nicely on a leash, I also love taking them for short walks during the day to give them a little extra breathing room. I love to go for long walks outside and don’t mind walking for long periods of time. I also like to hike and go in forests. I believe that animals are very capable of communication and pay special attention to what they are trying to tell me. I focus on body language. I also make sure to always check the weather before taking pets outside of the house and make sure that I bring the appropriate care items along (such as water bottles, sweaters, poop bags). I am very punctual and tend to be early to appointments. I am reliable and rarely am sick. I look forward to meeting you and your animal companions! I have daily available during the work day with overnight care offered if needed. I have a fully fenced, large yard as well as two dogs of my own. The care for your dog would be directly in my home, they wouldn't be outside all day/ignored. If the weather is bad, we may just sit back and watch TV after playtime! My dogs are very friendly and playful but I do have a dachshund who is very small, therefore I can only accept dogs that are 40lbs and under.
