Anne kept me in the loop with tons of updates and pictures. You could tell Ginger really grew attached to them, and she seemed so comfortable and happy there. She was spoiled and allowed up on the couch and even cuddled up in their bed! They also have an older Goldendoodle who’s the sweetest, and they got along so well. About: I am privileged to have been able to care for cats of all ages, temperaments, and needs. This includes energetic kittens, senior cats, confident social butterflies, and shy or “spicy” cats who need a little extra patience and understanding. My experience comes from nearly a decade with my own shy and "spicy" cat, Mink, as well as my role as a Team Lead at a compassionate no-kill cat shelter in Barrie, ON. I rescued Mink at just 8 weeks old from a home where she was unfortunately bullied by other animals. As my first-ever cat, she really threw me into the deep end! I am forever grateful to have learned off the bat from her the importance of patience, boundaries, and trust-building with cats. Despite Mink now thriving as a spoiled only child, I still felt I had more love to give, which brought me to my work at the shelter. One of my older babies, Bailey, struggles with constipation and usually won’t poop normally when I’m away due to stress. Sometimes we have to give her special medication to help her, and she can be fussy about taking it. Tanya handled the situation so well. I honestly don’t even know how to thank her enough. She gave her the necessary medication, monitored her closely to make sure she was pooping again, and even arrived earlier on some days just to ensure everything was okay with my kitties. About: I’ve been caring for animals since I was 12 years old and grew up surrounded by dogs my entire life. Over the years, I’ve also cared for a chameleon, hamster, and ferret, which gave me experience with a wide range of pet needs and personalities. I adopted my dog Maia 3 years ago, and she’s full of energy with a big personality, which has taught me a lot about active dogs, structure, and keeping playtime both fun and safe. I also adopted my cat when I was 20. She was very feisty, and no one else wanted to handle her, but I built a strong bond with her over time. About: I have owned a dog for five and a half years, crate trained my aunts puppy when she first got her, volunteered at the humane society which included fostering puppies, and have received my animal care certification from Sheridan College I am looking to make this a full time job, however I do have a part time job currently so my availability will depend on my work schedule. About: I’m a proud pet owner of Molly the cat and was a dog mom of almost 14 years. I lost my little Ollie (yes, Molly and Ollie) Jan 2021 just after having my sweet girl. About: I don't know how to begin to explain my experience, but let’s start with my professional background I’m a graduate from Sir Stanford Fleming college in the Ecosystem Management Technology Program. I also have my Structural Exterminator Pesticide License. I'm an environmentalist and I do volunteer wildlife rescue work as well. I've had a variety of animals as pets my whole life, including dogs/puppy's, cats/kittens, fish, birds, and hamsters. When I was about 11 years old I was the neighborhood dog walker for many years, now I've watched my college roommates bearded dragon. I'm constantly asked to watch our friends pets. Now I have my two elderly dogs that take more delicate watching, one is a 10 year old senior dog has a torn ACL and I need to help her in and out of vehicles, watch to ensure she doesn't jump, run or do any movement that could hurt her more. I did have to administer orally her medication for two months after the incident. Then I have my 15 year senior old dog that got a disease that made him lose all balance, I've re-taught him how to walk, now he just needs help with going up and down the stairs, in and out of vehicles, turning all lights on for his balance. Also he's now going deaf and stubborn, so sometimes you have to re-direct him instead of calling him. I’ve also had to administer medication with him as well, which is no longer on. I also have experience with reactive dogs, my one dogs developed a food aggression, which was later trained out. My other dog is reactive to dogs, which has led my other dog to be reactive with them as well. I love my babies and would do anything for them, just like I treat any animal I encounter, as I would treat yours too. The animal always comes first. I’m currently in the middle of seeking employment, so I have an enormous amount of available time currently. Depending on the weekends, I can be available on the weekends, but I’m certainly available during the week. I have a fenced in property that I allow my dogs to use, I also bring my dogs around Angus. If my dogs weren’t reactive with other dogs I would use the dog park close to me.
