“⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Greetings, loyal subjects. It is I… Lyric. My sitter Nikki arrived at my home, where I graciously allowed them entry. And oh, what a visit! The cuddles were plentiful, the Frisbee tosses were mighty, and the attention… exquisite. They documented my every majestic move and sent the photos to my mom so she wouldn’t perish from missing me. Truly, they understood the assignment. I shall eagerly await their return to my royal residence. A triumph. A masterpiece. 15/10 dramatic tail wags.”

About: In the past, I have fostered dogs and have experience volunteering at a shelter where I have advanced dog handling training, and lots of experience with animals of different backgrounds. I have pet sit for family in the past, which included staying at their home while they were away, taking their pets for 2+ walks a day, feeding, and cleaning up after the pet. I have taken care of dogs of all sizes ranging from shitzus to bullmastiff’s. I currently am a proud owner of an orange tabby cat, however, I grew up with dogs as well. I love playing with dogs and keeping them engaged. I work from home as a Process Engineer with flexible work hours, so my availability can be flexible throughout the morning, afternoon and evening. Depending on the activity level of your pet, I’m more than happy to work out a schedule that works for them and you! Volunteering at an animal shelter with both cats and dogs and fostering dogs, has allowed me to develop strong dog and cat handling experience for a variety of needs.

About: Love dogs but could not own one due to work/life circumstances. Have experience sitting and walking smaller high energy dogs such as Daschund and Jack Russels.I have owned and cared for pets for many years of all ages and was fortunate to have a pet that lived to the age of 26.I have pet sat for friends in their home and on occasion in my home in the past. As an owner of a cat with thyroid disease daily specialized care and dietary monitoring is a significant part of my routine to maintain good health.I recently had to say goodbye to my senior cat of 26 years. She was a rescue cat with a unique personality. In her latter years she suffered pancreatitis on several.occasions .She was very strong and resilient which gave her longevity. I am a retired nurse of 40 years who continues to work casual shifts in health care.I can set my work hours and organize my life more freely. I can be accommodating to meet the needs of those in my care . Can walk dogs, change litter, refill food and water and administer medication. As a result of my previous experiences with health related issues in my pets I am more in tune with changes in behavior and health.

“After my long-time dog-sitter retired, I struggled to find a replacement who could fill her shoes. For over a year, I restricted my travel to pet-friendly road trips and avoided overseas journeys completely... then I discovered Rover.com and found Christin. I have no hesitation recommending Christin as a house and pet-sitter. I received regular updates while I was away and upon my return, I found a tidy home and a very happy dog. In fact, I got the distinct impression Enzo was rather disappointed to see me - rather than Christin - walk through the door on the last day. I think he's in love!”

“Heidi sent me daily photos and updates, which were hugely appreciated. My partner arrived back home first, and he said our cat was disgruntled that we had left but that it was clear that all of his immediate needs had been met. He arrived home before I had a chance to let her know, and he said she came in with a cat greeting so enthusiastic and loving that he thought I’d come home early. Heidi was extraordinarily thoughtful to both our and our cats needs. Highly recommend!”

About: I grew up with both dogs and cats and have cared for animals throughout my life. I bring 15+ years of hands-on animal-care experience, including working in two veterinary clinics and teaching canine and equine first aid. I provide reliable, attentive and compassionate care and am happy to follow each pet's individual routine and needs. I have a flexible schedule and am generally available Sunday to Saturday with daytime availability for drop-in visits, dog walks and pet care. I am also open to occasional weekend and overnight bookings with advance notice. I enjoy staying active and spend time caring for my own animals, including my horses and cats. I can work with individual pet routines and am happy to provide regular updates to owners while they are away. Your pet's safety and comfort are my top priorities. I take the time to understand each pet's routine, personality and individual needs, and I carefully follow owner instructions for feeding, exercise, medications and other care. My experience working in two veterinary clinics, along with my Canine and Equine First Aid Instructor training, gives me confidence recognizing changes in an animal's health or behaviour and responding appropriately if a concern arises. Whether caring for pets in their own home or providing visits, I aim to keep their environment calm, familiar and stress-free. I will also keep owners updated so they can have peace of mind while they are away.

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Lunenburg on Rover is $53.5 per night (as of September 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Lunenburg maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Garbage & recycling: Taking garbage bins to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Lunenburg walking routes, the location of your favourite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Lunenburg choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

You can find what you need to review a sitter on their profile before booking with them. Each sitters’s profile on Rover shows verified reviews, identity check, and ratings to give a glimpse of how their previous visits went. You can also use the Meet & Greet to walk through your home, identifying which areas, like your bedroom, are off-limits or not. Requesting details of your home security through the app can also be a good way to have your sitter keep you updated about your home.

If you have security cameras or doorbells, Rover asks that you disclose them to sitters before you book.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.

If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
