I have used Cameron 2 times now to check in on my kitties! She is absolutely fantastic, so accommodating, very good communication! My kitties seem to love her and her daughter and that makes me feel very comfortable trusting her with them! I will definitely continue to book with her in the future :)

Mckayla was amazing with our Goldendoodle Nash, highly recommend her to anyone looking. Very professional and organized at our meet and greet, asking great questions to understand our daily routine with him. We received updates with each visit that included photos, showing how happy he was to be with her! We have already rebooked with McKayla, having full confidence and trust in her to take care of our fur baby 😊 The special little touches shows she truly loves and cares for the animals in her care❤️

About: I have nearly a year of professional experience working as a dog walker in North Vancouver, where I cared for dogs in a wide variety of environments, personalities, ages, and ability levels. My typical workday included two group hikes on North Vancouver mountain trails, usually about 5 km and 1.5 hours each, as well as private neighborhood or trail walks in between. I was responsible for picking dogs up from their homes, safely transporting them to and from the trails, managing groups of up to five dogs at a time, and making sure every dog was safe, comfortable, and enjoying the experience. I have worked with young, energetic dogs, senior dogs, shy and sensitive dogs, highly active dogs, dogs with challenging behaviours, and dogs requiring additional care, including blind and deaf dogs. I also have extensive experience walking dogs both on-leash and off-leash. Working with so many different personalities has taught me how important it is to read a dog's body language, respect their boundaries, stay aware of the environment, and adjust my approach to each individual dog. Safety has always been my priority. During my professional dog-walking experience, I became very comfortable managing multiple dogs outdoors, handling unexpected situations, and building trust with dogs so they feel secure with me. I take that responsibility very seriously. Communication with pet parents is also very important to me. After each walk or hike, I provided a detailed update about how the dog did, what we did during the outing, and anything noteworthy I observed, along with photos from our adventure. I know how reassuring it is to receive a thoughtful update and know that your dog is happy and well cared for. I also share my life with my own 9-year-old American Cocker Spaniel, who is truly a member of my family. Having him has given me an even deeper appreciation for how unique, sensitive, and important our dogs are to us. I understand what it feels like to trust someone else with a dog you love deeply, and I never take that trust for granted. Whether your dog is young and full of energy, older and needs a gentler pace, shy and needs time to feel comfortable, or simply loves a good adventure, I will always treat them with patience, respect, attention, and genuine care — just as I would want someone to treat my own dog. Pet care is a natural part of my daily routine, and I currently have a flexible schedule that allows me to give each dog plenty of time and attention. I’m available throughout the week for walks, drop-in visits, and pet sitting, and I’m happy to work around your dog’s usual routine and individual needs. I also love longer walks and active outings, so energetic dogs are always welcome! I always follow your dog’s usual routine and any instructions you leave for me. I take the time to get to know each dog and make sure they feel comfortable and safe with me. Safety is always important to me, both at home and on walks. I’m careful with doors, gates, leashes, and interactions with other dogs, and I’ll always keep you updated with messages and photos while your pet is in my care.

About: (If you’re wanting house sitting on days during the week, please message me) I grew up on an acreage by Beaverlodge. We had what my mom called a “funny farm” because of all the animals we had. From cleaning the litter box to graining our livestock, I helped my family with it all. Making sure all our animals were fed and cared for was one of the greatest responsibilities I had. Once I moved into GP, I decided to get 2 dogs of my own. I enjoy taking them on walks and lots of adventures. Needless to say, my dogs are spoiled! I started off a few years ago pet sitting/walking for my family and friends. Realizing the joy I get from it, I decided to expand my pet services to anyone in need of them around town. I have experience in watching different types of breeds and ages in dogs. My goal is to make tails wag and to provide comfort for owners who need a break, want a holiday, or just need a simple hand with daily tasks😊 I’m currently working a full time job monday-thursday. I am available monday-thursday after 6:00pm. I have full availability on weekends (Friday-Sunday) all day. Message me for availability😊 When caring for pets in my client’s home, I do my best to keep them on their normal routine so they feel comfortable and stress free. I’ll follow all feeding, walking, medication (if needed), and potty schedules exactly as instructed. During visits, I’ll make sure your pet gets plenty of love, attention, playtime, and exercise based on their energy level and personality. I also make sure fresh water is always available, clean up after pets, and keep the home tidy and secure. I’ll treat your home with the same respect I would my own by locking doors, bringing in packages if requested, and leaving everything as I found it. I know how important it is to have peace of mind while you’re away, so I’ll send regular photo and video updates to let you know how your pet is doing. My goal is to make sure your pet feels safe, happy, and well cared for until you return home.

About: I’ve always had animals growing up and currently have two of my own. I’ve been doing drop in visits for a few people for the last 4 years and thought this would be a great way to extend my services to other dog parents in need. I know sometimes you just need a last minute check-in, and I’m usually able to accommodate! I can do mornings before work, my lunch breaks and then anytime after 5 :) I do have a full time job from 8-5, but I am more than willing to drop in before work, lunch breaks and anytime after work! I will make sure they are fed, secured, belly rubs, treats, if you crate them, whatever your pup’s needs are just let me know and I’ll love them like my own

About: I love animals. People would describe me as warm, energetic, happy, and kind. I will treat your best friend like my own and there is nothing better than a dog smile after a walk, or cat snuggles. I have always grown up with animals and they make me happy and I absolutely believe they make the world a better place. I had 2 cats who lived to be 23 years old (brother and sister) miss them everyday.... and I also had an American Bulldog named Titus. He was extremely goofy, cuddly and could tear his way into any box or toy that he had!!! I am extremely patient, and have lots of experience with senior animals, and dogs of large breeds. I look forward to meeting you and your best friends!!!

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for Pet Sitting in Grande Prairie on Rover is $26.64 per visit (as of September 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of Pet Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for Pet Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

There are 29 sitters on Rover for Pet Sitting in Grande Prairie. About 84% of Grande Prairie sitters can respond to requests in under 60 minutes. Whether you’re planning ahead for holidays, need last-minute care, or need same-day coverage for an urgent trip, you can message multiple sitters at once to find available care.

Once you find the right match, you can arrange a Meet & Greet to ensure they are a perfect fit for your pet’s personality before confirming.

A pet sitter can provide focused care sessions, help your pet’s routine stay on track, or keep you updated on your pet’s mood and energy levels.

Whether you’re at the office for the day or travelling for a few nights, a pet sitter can offer poop breaks during a Grande Prairie stroll, cleaning the litter box, or making sure your pet has on-time food or water refills. For daytime services like walking and drop-ins, you can also request sitters to send a report card with every visit.

Tip: You can discuss your specific arrangements with a pet sitter on Rover based on what fits you, your pet, and your sitter’s needs. To find what their special skills are, look at the "Skills" and "Pet care experience" sections on their profile.

You can coordinate how much supervision you want directly with your sitter. While every sitter’s schedule varies, here are some examples of supervision by pet care service:

  • Boarding or doggy day care: Many sitters can provide frequent companionship because they design their day specifically around the pets in their care or work from home.
  • House sitting: Your sitter generally stays in your home for the requested duration, which may include overnight care. They may step out briefly to visit other pet clients, but your home remains their primary base.
  • Drop-in visits or dog walking: These can be scheduled in 30- or 60-minute windows (and can be shorter or longer at your request) to help your pet receive dedicated attention and care during those specific times.

Interested in constant or 24/7 care? This service often incurs an additional fee but many sitters are happy to discuss this option with you.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Grande Prairie choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.

If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
