“This was my first time using this app. It was easy to use, gave me some variety to choose from. Communication came via text and emails, photos on the walks...a pre visit with the walker, and it was all amazing. Will DEFINITELY be using Rover again and out walker 😉 to was so great.”

“Baylee was great!!! She was friendly and attentive, my older dog has some specific needs and tendencies that worries me sending him with a walker but Milo warmed right up to her and was well taken care of :) I highly recommend Baylee and will be booking again for sure!”

“Kelsie is amazing! So grateful to have crossed paths with her as I don’t know/trust many people in town with my dogs. She is very much a dog girl! From day 1 she made immediate friends with both my shepherds. They have loved getting out with her for walks! She is very communicative, on time, loving and understands dog quirks.”

About: I have my diploma in animal health science with a focus on behaviour and nutrition. Although I did enjoy my time in vet clinics, I had a focus to become a foster and behaviouralist . I do also have my Canine first aide and WHMS certificate as well as lots of on hands experience with all types of animals big and small , including reptiles and snakes. I do currently work Mon-Fridays 7:30-4pm with weekends off and usually my Wed/thurs are work at home days so I am available in home . My job is fairly flexible so easy to work around when needed I do have a fenced yard for dogs but I also am a believer in spending time with them and not leaving them alone. There are several room set ups in home to isolate nervous animals from each other when or if needed and lots of space to run around and play. When it comes to pet care in other homes , I am extremely reliable and trustworthy. I can follow direction and am fully capable of extended care for administering medications , bathing and light grooming as well .
About: I have nearly a year of professional experience working as a dog walker in North Vancouver, where I cared for dogs in a wide variety of environments, personalities, ages, and ability levels. My typical workday included two group hikes on North Vancouver mountain trails, usually about 5 km and 1.5 hours each, as well as private neighborhood or trail walks in between. I was responsible for picking dogs up from their homes, safely transporting them to and from the trails, managing groups of up to five dogs at a time, and making sure every dog was safe, comfortable, and enjoying the experience. I have worked with young, energetic dogs, senior dogs, shy and sensitive dogs, highly active dogs, dogs with challenging behaviours, and dogs requiring additional care, including blind and deaf dogs. I also have extensive experience walking dogs both on-leash and off-leash. Working with so many different personalities has taught me how important it is to read a dog's body language, respect their boundaries, stay aware of the environment, and adjust my approach to each individual dog. Safety has always been my priority. During my professional dog-walking experience, I became very comfortable managing multiple dogs outdoors, handling unexpected situations, and building trust with dogs so they feel secure with me. I take that responsibility very seriously. Communication with pet parents is also very important to me. After each walk or hike, I provided a detailed update about how the dog did, what we did during the outing, and anything noteworthy I observed, along with photos from our adventure. I know how reassuring it is to receive a thoughtful update and know that your dog is happy and well cared for. I also share my life with my own 9-year-old American Cocker Spaniel, who is truly a member of my family. Having him has given me an even deeper appreciation for how unique, sensitive, and important our dogs are to us. I understand what it feels like to trust someone else with a dog you love deeply, and I never take that trust for granted. Whether your dog is young and full of energy, older and needs a gentler pace, shy and needs time to feel comfortable, or simply loves a good adventure, I will always treat them with patience, respect, attention, and genuine care — just as I would want someone to treat my own dog. Pet care is a natural part of my daily routine, and I currently have a flexible schedule that allows me to give each dog plenty of time and attention. I’m available throughout the week for walks, drop-in visits, and pet sitting, and I’m happy to work around your dog’s usual routine and individual needs. I also love longer walks and active outings, so energetic dogs are always welcome! I always follow your dog’s usual routine and any instructions you leave for me. I take the time to get to know each dog and make sure they feel comfortable and safe with me. Safety is always important to me, both at home and on walks. I’m careful with doors, gates, leashes, and interactions with other dogs, and I’ll always keep you updated with messages and photos while your pet is in my care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Grande Prairie choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
